DDB NY has launched an interesting and important project to help save the 400 Sumatran tigers that are facing extinction. The Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute partnered with indie rock band Portugal. The Man, bringing science and music together to distribute a song written for the project titled “Sumatran Tiger”. The song was lathe-cut onto 400 custom poly-carbonate records designed to degrade after a certain amount of plays. There are no other copies of the song in existence. The records were sent to 400 participants who were asked to digitize and share the song through their social channels.

The song will go extinct unless it’s digitally reproduced. The Sumatran tiger will go extinct unless we take action.

We are proud to have been sent #385 and share our copy with you hoping you will pass it forward and help the remaining Sumatran tigers.

Listen and share our copy of the #EndangeredSong on Soundcloud:

    Feeling Good →
For the latest KPN campaign, we were asked to re-interpret “Feeling Good”, a 1964 musical classic and made famous by Nina Simone, in various interpretations that all come together in a seamless blend.
This kind of brief is never easy, but we’re happy to report - the end result feels damn good.

The only thing more exciting than remixing James Brown (for Gatorade in 2005) was meeting him in person. Here’s one of the biggest handshakes in Massive history. Our very own Hans Brouwer was thrilled to meet the Godfather of Soul. James Brown was excited too. So excited, that no one could understand a single word he said.

We’ve been enjoying our role as a connector between bands, brands and fans. Our latest client, PUMA sought some visibility within the EDM domain. We advised the iconic brand to connect with another icon within the EDM world: DJ Tiësto. As a result we helped PUMA with product placement in Tiësto’s new video “Red Lights” which was premiered exclusively via Shazam on February 7th, 2014.

“Red Lights” is the first single from Tiësto’s long-awaited forthcoming album. His last album release was released in 2009. The single is on heavy rotation in the UK, the rest of Europe and the United States.

If you thought last year’s Booking campaign was epic, you thought wrong. Because this year’s Booking campaign is actually called Epic. And once again, we come through with an Epic Booking score for an Epic Booking film.

We like a cold beer just as much as the next guy. But when Heineken asked us to help out with their latest responsible drinking campaign, we were on it like white on rice. From general creative contribution to hooking up Heineken with the perfect ambassador in the form of world famous DJ Armin van Buuren, we’re proud to be part of such a strong and entertaining message. So here’s to the Dance More Drink Slow campaign! Responsibly, of course.
